Things are heating up in Orlando, and we don’t just mean the mid-90-degree weather. On Monday, The Iron Yard’s Orlando campus welcomed a new crop of students for the first day of our immersive Mobile Engineering cohort, taught by our Orlando Mobile Instructor, Ben Gohlke. This is the second Mobile Engineering course being offered since the Orlando coding school opened in 2014.
Every week, we share some of the amazing stories that we get to hear from our students as they struggle (and succeed) at becoming software developers. These stories are their own, in their own words, and sometimes raw and uncut.
But they are real and authentic, just as they should be.
We are thrilled to introduce Jason Perry, who joined our Tampa Bay team in May as a Ruby on Rails instructor. Jason has been a huge part of the tech community in the Tampa Bay area for years. He knows what employers are looking for and how to equip students with the right skills.
Speaking of skills, Jason’s expertise doesn’t end with Ruby – he’s also going to teach our Front End Engineering course next cohort. Jason has a passion not only for teaching people how to code, but also helping them find a career path that fits. He recently reflected on his journey to The Iron Yard.
